Huntington has the most offices of any Suffolk town on this list, followed by Riverhead, then Islip, Brookhaven and Smithtown. On October 25, 2026, eight of these twelve companies had a NYSDEC record in NYSPAD that matched their name and town. For the other four, we either found no record under that name or found the registration at a different office, such as a corporate location in another town, so their cards say not checked yet. A company can send us its number through the listing page.

Registration renewals for Suffolk companies

NYSDEC’s renewal calendar puts Suffolk registrations on a December 31 expiration, two months after Nassau’s. Each office registers separately, so a company with more than one branch should show a record for the branch you are hiring.

Suffolk’s mosquito and tick programs

Suffolk County’s Department of Public Works runs Vector Control out of Yaphank. Its work includes mosquito control, a countywide tick surveillance program, field trials of tick control products, and marsh management. What it means for your own yard, before you hire anyone:

  • Requesting service. Residents can ask for mosquito control, or report a problem, through the county’s online request form.
  • The spray schedule. The county posts a daily schedule of where adult mosquito spraying will happen, and the information line is 631-852-4939.
  • Opting out. A no-spray registry lets property owners keep their land out of the county’s adult mosquito spraying.

The Department of Health Services tracks ticks in all ten towns, testing them for Lyme disease, anaplasmosis, babesiosis, Powassan virus and other infections. Its results come from one site per town, and the county cautions that each result represents a single location in that town.

The county bed bug line

The Department of Health Services Bed Bug Information Line, (631) 852-4999, takes general questions, and the county page says to call it or Cornell Cooperative Extension to get a specimen identified. Bed bugs in a hotel, motel or children’s camp go to the Office of Public Health Protection instead, (631) 852-5900.
